Ok ladies, we are in week two. The workouts get a little tougher and longer with this week, just remember to do the miles/minutes the best you can. We are building endurance.
Mon - OFF
Tue - Run: 30 min
Wed - Swim: 400 yards
Thu - BRICK: 30 min bike, 10 min run, 20 min walk
Fri - Swim: 400 yards
Sat - Run: 40 min
Sun - Bike 15 miles
I have a 5 mile run scheduled for Thursday with a few friends then have a 5k race on Sunday at the OC Fair so I am going to have to move some of this around to fit my schedule. I will most likely run today, swim Tuesday and Wednesday and bike Saturday. I know the bikes are long but try to go somewhere you will be distracted by your surroundings instead of focusing on each mile you are grinding out. This is a hard week but I know we can do it. Good luck and happy training!

How are you guys doing out there? It is quiet! I did a good run yesterday with a friend of mine, headed for the pool tonight!

ReplyDeleteHey there! Sorry I've been quiet. Busy weekend. We had a blues bash and my dad held a cornhole tourney. Busy...busy. Anyway I was also grounded by my PT and chiropractor from training. I don't think I mentioned this but I've somehow moved my left pelvis out of place and I've been doing therapy/chiro for about 2 weeks to get it back in place. I'm pretty sure the Wii fit had something to do with it. I didn't stop trainging until they finally told me to this weekend. I can't believe how much I missed it! For this week they said to only swim and bike until the weekend but I want to try to the BRICK on Thursday. Working on the swimming and biking will be good for me because as of now those are my weakest areas.
ReplyDeleteSo I swam today just to get back into the swing of things. It felt so good to swim I did a little more than on the schedule. I think about 40 laps. It really felt great! I think I'm getting it down...let's hope!
I'm going to test drive a used roadbike tomorrow. If that doesn't work out I'm going to get some new tires.
One other thing...I've got to start eating right! I'm trying really hard this week. I did well yesterday and today. I'm trying to stay away from drinking until the race (that means no rach-becky night :-( Instead we can train...Woohoo!
How'd your races go this past weekend?
Good luck this week!
Hey there, I didn't know about your pelvis, that sounds painful! Swimming is definitely the best exercise, no impact so you won't aggravate the injury.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great weekend last weekend, slept in both days, played ladder golf on Saturday then did a 15 mile bike ride Sunday.
This weekend should be good too. Saturday we will go for a ride then we have tickets to see Melissa Etheridge Saturday night. Sunday is a 5k at the OC Fair. I did one there in July and ran it in 25:02. I hope I can beat that time in this weekend's race.
Eating good is so hard! When I get on the wagon the first few days I can't sleep then that makes me grumpy! But once you get into the swing of it you will be OK. I just look at it like this; everything I put in my body needs to fuel me so I can train effectively. I have days when I want a drink and on those days I have one. It is hard to only have one and everyonce in awhile I have more than that but I found that when I am in full training mode my body craves the good stuff, not the bad. Everyone's body is different but I have a feeling that you will experience something similar.
Let me know how you like the BRICK. They are challenging workouts but I love them.
